Our story

PPI was co-founded by Justin Harris and Ashley Finn to supply the electrical industry across the Pacific Islands. PPI became part of the Finn Pacific Group (FPG), drawing on more than 20 years of experience operating throughout the region. Starting with a laptop on a kitchen bench, PPI quickly gained traction through a hands-on, solution-focused approach.

In 2019, PPI established a Site Services division, expanding to offer end-to-end project support, including project management, engineering and procurement services. That same year, the business secured its first major contract with the Solomon Islands National Provident Fund, marking a new chapter in PPI's growth.

When COVID hit and international borders closed, PPI shifted focus to the Australian market. Drawing on Justin Harris's experience in earthing and lightning protection, the business partnered with nVent ERICO to represent their products across Queensland and the Pacific Islands. It was a pivotal moment in PPI's growth.

With COVID continuing to impact global supply chains, PPI moved into a larger facility in Pinkenba to meet growing demand. The business also brought manufacturing of key products in-house, maintaining control over quality and lead times. Today, the division produces more than 7,000 CADWELDED earth tails and 2,000 earth bars annually.

PPI delivered its first major mining project at Moranbah North, designing, supplying and installing a complete lightning protection system across the Bowen Basin mine site.

PPI expanded nationally, opening an office and warehouse in Perth, Western Australia. The move brought specialist technical knowledge and product support to clients across the region.

PPI secured national distribution agreements with Sofamel and Cellpack, adding globally recognised cable connection and electrical safety products to the range.
