PPI PM was given the opportunity to audit this building and provide design solutions for the electrical services.

Due to the age of the building, we focussed on our client’s concerns around electricity usage and facilities management.

Part of our design proposal was the installation of cash meters for the levels that had shared tenancy arrangements, as well as the replacement of all switchboards, cabling, lighting and general power throughout the 6-level building. Upon a risk assessment, it was also evident that – as it was the tallest building in Honiara – there was a requirement for lightning protection.

This was our first major project in Honiara and, when complete, these buildings will house South Pacific Oil, banks, major legal firms and government departments, whilst also acting as the head office for SINPF itself.
