PPI were engaged to supply, install and commission the static earthing system and lightning protection for the Queensland Museum.

Queensland Museum Network (QMN) maintains a wet collection for the storage and preservation of biological specimens on level 6 of the Queensland Museum South Bank. The samples are stored in ethanol. Due to the large quantity of ethanol storage, the wet store and associated lab spaces have been assessed as a hazardous zone. The current ethanol storage volume has been independently assessed at approximately 127,000L.

PPI were engaged to supply, install and commission the static earthing system and lightning protection on this project. We used a carefully designed copper tape perimeter around the entire inside of the building and then individually bonded each part of the equipment to provide a suitable static earthing system.
