Power Protection Industries (PPI) was engaged by Stanmore Resources to design, supply, and install lightning protection systems across the Run of Mine (ROM) areas, with a primary focus on safeguarding personnel working in exposed environments.
Following the initial implementation, PPI’s scope centred on delivering effective lightning protection across the ROM, targeting high-risk, open operating areas where personnel are most exposed. The system design prioritised coverage of active work zones, ensuring practical and reliable protection aligned with day-to-day mining operations.
Given the dynamic nature of the ROM environment, ongoing integrity of the system is critical. PPI continues to provide annual inspection and maintenance services to ensure all components remain intact, correctly positioned, and fully operational—particularly following storm activity during lightning season. This proactive approach ensures the system maintains its intended level of protection and adapts to any changes in site conditions.
